What data CalSnap accesses

• Selected text: When you highlight text on a webpage and use CalSnap, the extension reads the selected text to parse event details. This text is processed locally and never sent to any server (unless you enable AI parsing).
• Active tab: CalSnap accesses the active tab solely to read your text selection. It does not read page content, URLs, or browsing history.

What data CalSnap stores

All data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage APIs:

• Settings: Your AI provider preference, model selection, and whether AI parsing is enabled.
• API key: If you choose to enable AI parsing, your API key is stored locally in your browser. It is never shared with CalSnap or any third party.
• Event history: A local history of events you've created (up to 50 entries) for your convenience.

AI parsing (optional)

If you enable AI parsing and provide an API key, the highlighted text is sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you selected (Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or DeepSeek). CalSnap does not proxy, intercept, or log these requests. Your API key is used exclusively for direct communication between your browser and the provider's API.

Third-party services

When you add an event to Google Calendar or Outlook, CalSnap opens a pre-filled URL in a new tab. No data is sent in the background — it simply opens the calendar's webpage with event details in the URL parameters, the same as clicking a link.

Data collection

CalSnap does not:

• Collect analytics or usage data
• Use tracking pixels or cookies
• Send data to CalSnap servers (we have none)
• Share any data with third parties
• Access browsing history or page content

Data deletion

All data can be deleted by clearing history within the extension, removing the API key from settings, or uninstalling the extension entirely.
